Lt. governor in Carbondale, studying state's opioid crisis
Illinois Lt. Gov. Evelyn Sanguinetti was in Carbondale recently to learn about the city's Gateway Foundation and take a tour of the Gateway drug treatment center.
Following the tour, Sanguinetti met with local medical and law enforcement officials to discuss the issue of opioid abuse. Sanguinetti, who co-chairs the governor's Opioid Overdose Prevention and Intervention Task Force, has been touring the state to discuss the issue with various stakeholders.
