Charles Henry McDonald of Stonefort
Charles Henry McDonald, 88, of Stonefort, died at 12:46 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26 at the Carrier Mills Nursing Home.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills is assisting the family with the details.
He was born on June 16, 1931 in Blytheville, Arkansas to the late Charles and Ivery (Snow) McDonald. He married the former Sharon Travis in 1991 in Paducah, Kentucky and she survives.
He was a retired U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He attained the rank of Sergeant First Class before his retirement.
After his retirement from the military, he enjoyed the outdoors, where he loved to do carpentry and masonry work.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon McDonald of Stonefort; daughter, Marsha Gardener of Richmond, Vermont; four sons, Roger Adams of Stonefort, Rodney Adams of Harrisburg, Clint Personette of Harrisburg and Jamie Clifton of Harrisburg; sister, Margaret Spradling of Mississippi; niece, Kay Hathaway; nephew, David Hutchcraft of Harrisburg; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Danny McDonald; sister, Ruth Ann Hutchcraft; and two brothers, Jerry McDonald and Lloyd McDonald.
