Two Du Quoin grads honored with 2021 Pullis Family Scholarships
The District 300 Educational Foundation is proud to announce this year's Pullis Family Scholarship has been awarded to Molly Dearmond and Will Rea, two past Du Quoin High School graduates.
Both recipients have been presented awards of $1,000 each to continue their education at their present university settings for the 2021-22 school year.
Molly Dearmond, the daughter of Amanda Casey and Will Dearmond, currently attends Southern Illinois University Carbondale majoring in radiation therapy. Will Rea, the son of Steve and Diana Rea, attends Southern Illinois University Carbondale majoring in History Education.
Formerly known as the Rosemary Pullis Scholarship, this award as part of the District #300 Educational Foundation scholarship program has amounted to thousands of dollars being provided to past Du Quoin High School graduates since its inception.
The criteria for the scholarship is the applicant must be a graduate of Du Quoin High School, a sophomore or junior in college and major in one of the following areas: Education, Social Work, Nursing, Pre-Med, or any profession that seeks to help others.
