Robert Charles Willis of Tamaroa

Robert Charles Willis, 49, of Tamaroa, passed away at 1:10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020 at the Pinckneyville Community Hospital.

Robert was a machine operator for the Hicks Oil Company.

He was born Feb. 9, 1971 at Du Quoin, Illinois, the son of Ronald A. and Sharon (Johnson) Willis.

He married Tami J. Tate on Sept. 9, 2011 at Tamaroa, and she survives.

He is survived by his wife, Tami, of Tamaroa; one son, Zachary G. Willis, who is serving with the U.S. Army in Korea; two stepdaughters, Nicole Dudzinski of Valier and Misti Jo Cannon of Anna; his mother, Sharon Blair and stepfather Myles M. Blair, both of Coulterville; two brothers, Curt Willis of Benton and Jeff Miller of Du Quoin; one sister, Tabitha Willis of Mulkeytown; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and maternal grandparents, Charles and Velma Johnson.

Graveside services will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2020 at the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin, with Pastor Jason Todd officiating.

Phase 4 of Restore Illinois allows up to 50 attendees at graveside, using social distancing guidelines. Everyone in attendance is required to wear a mask.

Friends may make memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, which will be accepted at the funeral home.
