Another 56 COVID cases in Perry County from weekend

Between Friday and Sunday, the Perry County Health Department was notified of 56 additional laboratory confirmed cases of COVID-19.

That brings the number of currently active cases of coronavirus to 385, and the total number Perry County cases since the pandemic began to 1,329.

The most recent diagnosed individuals are:

Three boys under 16

Two females under 20

Five women and three men in their 20s

Four women and two men in their 30s

Six women and two men in their 40s

Five women and two men in their 50s

Six women and two men in their 60s

Three women and five men in their 70s

Three women in their 80s

Two women and one man in their 90s

Of the 1,329 confirmed cases, 385 are currently active, 912 have recovered and been released from isolation, and 32 people have died.

The Perry County Health Department is currently monitoring the situation along with the Illinois Department of Public Health, both local hospitals in Perry County and local emergency management authorities.

Also, the health department asks that you protect yourself and others by staying home as much as possible. Continue to social distance of 6 feet or more, avoid large groups or gatherings of people, wash your hands frequently, and use a cloth face coverings in community settings.
