NubAbility all-sports camp perseveres
Lightning and a deluge of rain befell the NubAbility Athletics Foundation's All-Sports camp in Du Quoin this past weekend, but not even flooding could ultimately stop the camp from going forward.
This was the ninth year that the NubAbility Foundation has held its all-sports camp in and around Du Quoin - at the high school, in Pinckneyville and at the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds, where altogether 18 different sports were offered.
During the four-day event, more than 125 children with limb loss received instruction from 60 limb-different coaches. With a camp theme of "Overcomer," this year's event celebrated the courage and confidence children gain when they overcome obstacles to achieve their goals in sports and in life.
