<b>Free COVID-19 testing available this week</b>
The Illinois Department of Public Health will have three mobile testing teams in Jackson County this week, available to COVID-19 test anyone for free. Anyone can be tested, regardless of symptoms or immigration status. There is no cost to the individual for testing, but people should bring their insurance card if they have one. However, insurance is not required. Specimens will be collected using a simple nasal swab. Drive-through and walk-up testing are both available at most locations.

Free testing is also available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 9-15, at the Aquatic Zoo in Mt. Vernon, 1700 S. 34th St.
<b>Guided hike Nov. 14 in One Horse Gap</b>
The River-to-River Trail Society will offer a guided hike in the One Horse Gap Area on Saturday, Nov. 14. The hike is free and open to the public, but due to Covid 19 restrictions the size of the group will be limited and advance registration is required.
