Reathel Wilkins of Carrier Mills

Reathel Wilkins, 83, of Carrier Mills died at 11:18 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, 2019 at Carbondale Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2019 at the Carrier Mills Social Brethren Church. Visitation will be held prior to the service, from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. The Rev. Mike Smith will officiate and burial will be in Salem Cemetery.

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses. Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills is entrusted with the services.

Reathel was born on Sept. 25, 1935 in Williamson County to the late Cecil and Esther (Swan) Fox. She married William Douglas Wilkins and he preceded in death on May 8, 1996.

She was a member of the Carrier Mills Social Brethren Church, She loved spending time with her family and friends.

Reathel is survived by two sons, Marty (Tammy) Wilkins of Carrier Mills and Shawn Wilkins of Carrier Mills; two sisters, Virginia Davis of Carrier Mills and Kathryn Black of Crab Orchard; four grandchildren, Jason Wilkins, Nick Austin, Nathan Wilkins and Erika Gwaltney; and nine great-grandchildren.

Reathel was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William Douglas Wilkins; son, Dennis Wilkins; daughter, Penny Austin; sister, Ludene Blackman; and granddaughter, Marieca Frailey.
