Perry County sentences for August

Perry County State's Attorney David H. Searby, Jr., announces the following sentences to the Illinois Department of Corrections during August:

Adam J. Vuichard, 34, of Pinckneyville, was sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections after having admitted to the allegations of a Petition to Revoke Probation for the original offense of Aggravated Battery, Class 2 Felony on Aug. 12.

Vuichard was sentenced to four years in the Department of Corrections, with applicable credit for time previously served and with a one-year Mandatory Supervised Release Period.

The Pinckneyville Police Department, with assistance from the Perry County Sheriff's Office, was responsible for the investigation and arrest in the Vuichard matter.

Richelle D. Melvin, 43, of Du Quoin, was sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections after having pleaded guilty to the offense of Violation of an Order of Protection, Class 4 Felony, on Aug. 16. Melvin was sentenced to two years in the Department of Corrections with applicable credit for time previously served, and with a four-year Mandatory Supervised Release Period.

The Du Quoin Police Department was responsible for the investigation and arrest in the Melvin matter.

Roger A. Deaton, 48, of Du Quoin, was sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections after having admitted to the allegations of a Petition to Revoke Probation for the original offense of Delivery of Controlled Substance, Class 2 Felony, on Aug. 23, 2021. Deaton was sentenced to three years in the Illinois Department of Corrections with applicable credit for time previously served, and with a one-year Mandatory Supervised Release Period.

The Perry County Drug Task Force, comprised of the Du Quoin Police Department, Pinckneyville Police Department and Perry County Sheriff's Office, was responsible for the original investigation and arrest in the Deaton matter.
