Glenda R. Stockwell of Chester
Glenda R. Stockwell, 87, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 11:18 a.m. on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at her residence.
She was born to the late R. Dwight Smith and Golda (nee Probst) Smith on Nov. 21, 1933 in Perryville, Missouri.
Glenda married Richard Lee Stockwell on April 13, 1957 in Perryville, Missouri; he preceded her in death on July 8, 2020.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Glenda enjoyed meeting with the Ladies Card Club for many years.
She is survived by two children, Kathy (Darrell) Westerman of Chester and Mark (Carol) Stockwell of Ballwin, Missouri; four grandchildren, Blake (Stacy) Stockwell, Brooke Stockwell (Matt), Darric Westerman, and Kile (Meghan) Westerman; two great-grandchildren, Oliver Stockwell and Eleanor Westerman; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Glenda was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one sister, Betty Stortz.
The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 22, 2021 at Pechacek Funeral Homes in Chester, with the Rev. Jim Oppedal officiating.
Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Chester.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Monday, prior to the funeral at Pechacek Funeral Homes, Chester. The funeral home is limited to 50 people inside at one time. Guests are asked to wear masks and use social distancing guidelines.
Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church in Chester, or the American Kidney Fund.
