Marcella Jerome, formerly of Du Quoin

SWANSEA - Marcella M. Jerome, 87, of Swansea, formerly of Du Quoin, baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018 at Memorial Hospital East in Shiloh.

Marcella was born Sunday, Dec. 14, 1930, in Chicago. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fairview Heights.

Surviving are her brother, Norbert H. (Mary) Jerome of Centennial, Colorado; sister-in-Law, Joan Jerome of St. Louis; and loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Marcella was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Pauline, nee Krus, Jerome; three brothers, Msgr. Harry J Jerome, Gerhardt Jerome, and Paul F. Jerome.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m., on Thursday, Jan. 17 at Sacred Heart Cemetery, in Du Quoin with Msgr. John Myler officiating.
