Dorothy Mae (Odom) Simpson, formerly of Benton
Dorothy Mae (Odom) Simpson, 86, of Crawfordsville, Ind., passed away Monday, April 6, 2020, at Ben Hur Health and Rehabilitation. She was born April 30, 1933, to the late Leon and Eliza Blanche (Bauer) Odom.
In 1951, Dorothy graduated from Benton Consolidated High School in Benton. She married the love of her life, Larry DeWayne Simpson, March 30, 1952. He preceded her in death Dec. 4, 2004. Dorothy was as member of Crawfordsville Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. She enjoyed embroidery, word searches, studying the bible and listening to country music.
Dorothy is survived by three sons, William (Marcie), Joseph (Loretta) and James Simpson; two daughters, Sarah Gullion and Patricia (Homer) Myers; daughter-in-law Jeanie Simpson; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Joan Odom; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Larry; son Kenneth Simpson; two brothers, Robert Odom and William "Tommy" Odom; and a sister, Wanda Erwin.
