Mary Agnes Evetts of Galatia

GALATIA - Mary Agnes Evetts, 84, passed away at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at her residence in Galatia.

Mary was born April 25, 1933, in Harrisburg to Matthew Joseph and Verba (Burns) Fiala.

On April 5, 1952, she married Thomas Glen Evetts, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 9, 1997.

Mary was a member of Stonefort General Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Loretta Beasley and husband Carl of Galatia; daughter, Cheryl Volkert and husband Roy of Raleigh; son, Thomas Evetts and wife Angela of Stonefort; daughter, April Barnes and husband Ted of Ontario, Canada; grandchildren, Kelly Beasley and wife Cari of Salem, Stephanie Beasley of Galatia, Jeremy Beasley and wife Laci of Herrin, Sherry Price and husband Mike of Rogersville, Tennessee, Anthony Volkert and wife Jenny of New Burnside, Brent Volkert and wife Ashley of Harrisburg, Shawn Henry Evetts and fiancé Melissa Stengel of Johnston City, Heather Dawn Evetts and husband William "Cosmo" Wagner of Marion, John Michael Keith of Barstow, California, Cheyenne Renee Evetts of Carbondale, Thomas Lakota Evetts of Stonefort, Destiny Paige Evetts of Stonefort, Brittany Nichole Daynard and husband David of Ontario, Canada, Zachary Alexander Booton and wife Mirranda of Marion and Joshua Dallas Alan Booton of Ontario, Canada; 22 great-grandchildren; sister, JoAnn Boatright of Anna; and friend of many years, Susie Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Stanley Jo Evetts in infancy; brother, Raymond Fiala; sister, Alma O'Malley; niece, Lori Michelle Boatright; and grandson, John Wesley Evetts.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 7, in Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg with the Rev. Anthony Volkert officiating. Burial followed in Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
