Randolph County Resource Guide now available
The "Better Together Recovery Committee" has created and made available a Randolph County Resource Guide which is available to all citizens of Randolph County. The guide is free and available both in hard copy and on line.
Rhonda Wilson, RN, MS, NAMI SWI, says the Better Together Recovery Committee is a sub-work group under the Southern Illinois Substance Abuse Alliance.
"It consists of stakeholders in the county who are working together to better network and make individuals aware of the mental health and substance misuse resources available to individuals in Randolph County."
Wilson said the committee is now trying to make people aware of the many resources available to them via this new comprehensive guide. They further are working hard to be sure that residents of the county know how and where to get the resource guide.
"This resource was originally a document that the Randolph County Health Department created. It had been quite some time since it had been updated, so we basically updated it and enhanced it."
The document is now an 80-page guide with a Table of Contents, resource information, and a word search in the back. It also includes a map and a quick phone number page making it much easier to find help when needed.
The new guide is officially housed on the Randolph County Health Department's Web page. On the back of the guide is a list of all stakeholders who contributed to the creation of the document. Business cards have also been created that assist users to scan or type into their web browsers to assist in finding resources more quickly and easily. The web link is: BIT.LY/21RCRG1.
The document will be revised on an annual basis and a new publication will be made available for circulation in the first quarter of each year.
