Victor W. Rowold of Evansville
Victor "Vic" W. Rowold, 96, of Evansville, Illinois, passed away at 5:54 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021 at Three Springs Lodge Nursing Home in Chester, Illinois.
He was born to the late Albert and Christine (nee Brase) Rowold on Jan. 4, 1925 in Nashville, Illinois.
Vic married Mildred Kruse on June 4, 1949 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Evansville, Illinois, and she survives.
Vic worked at the International Shoe Factory in Evansville, and retired from Spartan Printing. He also worked as an insurance agent with Ackerman Agency in Red Bud, Illinois.
He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Evansville. He held various offices and was very active in the church. He was also an active gardener and loved to travel.
Vic is survived by his wife, Mildred Rowold of Evansville; his son, David (Linda) Rowold of Chester; two grandchildren, Greg Rowold (Mandy Fox) and Allison Rowold; two sisters-in-law, Lucile Koester of Evansville and Ardell Kruse of Chester; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister-in-law, Nelda (John) Cholly; and three brothers-in-law, Wilfred Kruse, Victor Koester and Victor Kruse.
The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, in Evansville, with the Rev. Thomas Handrick officiating. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Evansville.
Visitation will be held prior to the funeral, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Evansville.
The church is allowed 50 people inside at one time, and guests are asked to wear masks and practice social distancing.
