<b>Active COVID cases down to one patient</b>
As of Monday, no new confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Perry County, the health department has reported. The total number of positive cases remains at 44, with only one of those cases currently active. Forty-three patients have recovered and are released from isolation. Perry County has had 0 coronavirus-related deaths and 1,030 negative test results. If you experience symptoms of respiratory illness, such as fever, cough, or difficulty breathing, call your health care provider for medical advice.

One teacher was moved into a new job and another was hired at the June 15 special district 300 school board meeting. The board transferred Jamie Gaines to the posted middle school special education (self-contained classroom) position; and it employed Brad Cullum as a high school math teacher for the 2020-2021 school year.
