Soccer star signs with Blackburn College
Pinckneyville senior Cameron Hawk has signed a commitment letter to play soccer at Blackburn College for the 2021-22 school year.
An excellent offensive player and scorer, Hawk has played an integral part in the development of PCHS soccer as it has transitioned to a varsity sport under the leadership of Head Coach Jay Ray.
At Blackburn, Hawk plans to major in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology.
For his future career, his goals could include the FBI, state police, or local law enforcement.
The student-managed work program at Blackburn will allow Hawk to pursue his interest while a student, as part of campus security.
The Blackburn College Beavers, under Soccer Head Coach Rob Steinkueleran, are an NCAA Division III school that plays in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Carlinville school is approximately 100 miles from Pinckneyville.
Cameron looks forward to making a difference in his final Panther soccer season and then moving up to the college level.
