Helen Lucille Hill, formerly of Benton
Helen Lucille Hill, 93, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018, at her home, surrounded by family.
She was born Feb. 23, 1925, in Benton to Paul Wesley and Pauline True Pilson. She and Charles L. Hill were married Nov. 6, 1943, in Oshkosh, Wis. He preceded her in death May 14, 1999.
She worked as a retail clerk for P.N. Hirsch in Metropolis and as a cook at Franklin Elementary in Metropolis. She was a member of Cape First Church in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include her two daughters, Janet (Bob) Myrick and Carol (Jerry) McGuire, both of Cape Girardeau; one son, Gary Hill of Murphysboro; one sister, Phyllis (Ken) Kearney of Alpha; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one brother, Bill Pilson; two grandchildren, Monicah Delane Hill Jacquot and Brockton David Hill; and two great-grandchildren, Miranda Lawrence and Brandon Lawrence.
Friends could call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2018, at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau. The funeral service was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15 at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau with the Rev. Gary Brothers officiating.
Entombment was at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau. Memorial contributions may be given to Cape First.
