Helen JoAnn Mossa of Du Quoin

Helen JoAnn Mossa, 83, of Du Quoin, passed away at 8:44 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021 at the Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Illinois.

JoAnn worked as a CD assembler at MUM in Pinckneyville and retired in 2001. She also worked at Turco Manufacturing in Du Quoin. JoAnn was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin, and a member of the Du Quoin V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.

She was born April 29, 1938 at Pinckneyville, Illinois, the daughter of John F. and Helen (Fannin) Linze.

She married Emil H. Mossa on June 14, 1958 at Todds Mill, Illinois and he preceded her in death on June 7, 1999.

She is survived by two sons, Emil Steven (Shirley) Mossa of Breese, Illinois and Anthony Don (Sheri) Mossa of Du Bois, Illinois; four grandchildren, Travis Mossa, Cortney Mossa, Bailey (Brandon) Lindsey and Mariah (Jeremy) Boswell; and three great-grandchildren, Finn Emil Davis, Azalea Taylor Lindsey and Weslynn Avery Boswell.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, John Dale Linze and Frank Linze; a nephew, John Douglas Linze; and a niece, Kayla Busbey.

Graveside services will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021 at the St. Charles Cemetery at Du Bois, with Fr. Carl Schrage officiating.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
