Panther soccer loses close home opener to Murphy

Panther Soccer lost its home opener to Murphysboro 4-3 in the mud at the Perry County Soccer Fields on Tuesday.

The Panthers overcame a 2-1 halftime deficit to take a 3-2 lead before Murphysboro answered with two late goals for the win. Junior Barrett Denny scored the Panthers' first goal, and seniors Ben Restoff and Cameron Hawk added the second half goals.
