Gilster Mary-Lee recognized for service

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Don?Welge of Gilster Mary-Lee was presented with a service plaque from Menard Correctional Center Warden Donald Hulick on Friday,?October 31.

Welge generously donated the use of his company's trucks for transportation of books from Florida and Colorado. The books will be used for the prison book project.

The trucks hauled four skids of books worth $118,000 from ?Florida and four skids of books from Colorado worth $153,000.

This is not the first time Welge has shown his generosity. Several years ago he donated the use of one of his company trucks to transport Bibles from Chicago to the correctional center.

Ken Kohrs, truck driver, and Mel Kirn,?dispatcher were also presented plaques.

"We are very appreciative of his (Welge) generosity, especially during the gas crisis we are experiencing," said Warden Hulick.
