Gateway F/S donates to Chester High School FFA
Gateway F/S has donated $600 donation to the Chester High School National FFA Organization (formerly Future Farmers of America).
Mike Pries of Gateway F/S made the presentation to Emily Millburg, FFA Sponsor at Chester High School. Millburg, who has only been on the job at CHS since the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year, was very appreciative of the most generous donation.
Millburg said, "I am very excited about donation from F/S. I don't have any specific plans for it yet. I am waiting to be able to talk to the kids to see what they might like to do with it.
"I really appreciate that F/S is willing to run such an awesome fundraiser to be able to give back to the area FFA chapters," she added.
Pries said the fundraiser is an annual one, where their Fast Stop stores in Sparta, Red Bud and Prairie Du Rocher donate 3 cents per gallon of gas or diesel fuel sold throughout February.
F/W collected enough money to be able to donate to all the Randolph County FFA high school chapters, including Chester, Sparta, Steeleville, Red Bud and Christ Our Savior.
"This program alternates between four counties, Clinton, Washington, Jefferson and Randolph. Therefore FFA chapters in those four counties receive the donations once every four years," Pries explained.
CHS Principal Missy Meyer is grateful for the gesture and thanked Pries for the generosity of Gateway F/S.
