Norman 'Rocky' Clopton of Pinckneyville

Norman "Rocky" Clopton, age 61, of Pinckneyville, Illinois, passed away at 12:07 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022 in Southeast Hospital, Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Norman was born on April 30, 1960 in Austin, Texas, a son to Norman Richard and Georgia Irene (McCown) Clopton. He married Carmen Marie Ocasio and of this union came two children. She preceded him in death on Jan. 31, 2008. Later, he was engaged to Michelle Lynn Martin, who preceded him in death on July 12, 2015.

Norman loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, fishing and fixing things. He was a handy man.

Survivors include his two children, Hannah Hamilton and William Clopton; two grandchildren, Aleena Hamilton and Gauge Martin; and four sisters, Brenda Miles of Hamilton, Texas, LaNell Yvonne "Nicki" (A.J.) Sewell of San Saba, Texas, Kathy Elaine Buster of San Saba, Texas and Juanita M.Sewell; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his ex-wife Carmen Ocasio; fiancee Michelle Lynn Martin; and two brothers, Richard Wayne Clopton and Ira Jessie Clopton.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, at Pyatt Funeral Home in Pinckneyville, with Brother Rob Mathis officiating.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association of the family.
