Gerald Feezor of Marion
Gerald K. Feezor, 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Shawnee Senior Living in Herrin, IL, with his family by his side.
He was born November 7, 1935, to F. Parkman and Elsie Feezor in Paducah, KY, where he spent his childhood with his four siblings: Parkman, Lewis, Iris and Frances. Gerald is survived by his wife Patricia of 42 years, and his children Julie Feezor Graul, Sarah Feezor Gray, Gerald Lane Feezor, Mike Lober, and Jeff Lober. He was blessed with nine grandchildren: Laura, Amanda, Emilie, Matthew, Aaron, Kelsey, Savannah, Madeline & Kenady, and five great-grandchildren.
Gerald was a life long banker who began his career at Murphy-Wall Bank in Pinckneyville, IL, followed by a promotion with Benton Community Bank, Benton, IL, then started his own bank, People's Bank of Marion, as President in 1976.
After graduating from Pinckneyville Community High School, Gerald attended Southern Illinois University where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He also attended Rend Lake College, where he was a student, as well as an instructor.
Gerald enjoyed holding various positions at his favorite clubs and organizations: Illinois Banking Association, American Bankers Association, Marion Chamber of Commerce, the Lions Club and Illinois Appaloosa Association.
As a member of Third Baptist Church Marion, he loved teaching Sunday School classes and holding a weekly devotional for senior residents at Parkway Manor.
He lived an active lifestyle; raising, training and showing Appaloosa horses, playing tennis and golf, snow skiing, and taking long distance trips with Pat in their RV. Gerald was an avid Saluki sports fan, who greatly enjoyed attending football and basketball games.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, March 18, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and a memorial service will follow at 12 p.m. at the Binkley Ross Funeral Home, 1702 W. Boulevard St. Marion, IL 62959, with Pastor Bob Noland officiating. Burial at Rose Hill Cemetery.
