Celebrations coming to Sparta

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Some big events are coming to Sparta soon, including the annual Sparta Homefest, scheduled for Saturday, September 27.

The event kicks off with the annual parade scheduled for 1 p.m. Lineup will start at the Sparta High School at noon.

Anyone interested in entering a float in the parade should check with the Chamber of Commerce office for an application.

There will also be a marching bands' field show at the SHS at 4 p.m. and a community-wide yard sale.

Two anniversaries are scheduled for October, with the Sparta Airport celebrating its 50th anniversary on October 4 and the National Guard Armory celebrating October 18. The Armory will hold an open house displaying all kinds of equipment at the facility. There will be games and prizes for children.
