Lady Warriors Fall in Regional Final

The Lady Warriors, ending the season with a 20-4 record, lost 5-1 against Herrin (Junior High School) at Left y Pyle Field.

DMS scored its only run in the fourth inning on Rebekah Maddox's RBI single.

Pitcher Cassidy Rice gave only five hits and struck out six for the Lady Warriors, who were seeking a second straight trip to the state tournament.

In baseball, #1 seed DMS (15-3) fell behind 7-0 and then rallied for a 13-9 win over West Frankfort at the Johnston City Class L Region III Regional.

At 4 p.m. Monday, the Warriors play Johnston City in the title game.
