Former Marshall Browning Hospital Administrator David Hosler, 80, Dies

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ David Hosler had three loves--the Marshall Browning Hospital which he helped navigate through some fiscally challenging times, wife Fran--and Honda Goldwing motorcycles.

He was as comfortable in the saddle of one of these beautiful bikes as he was in a hospital board room. He loved the open road, and he and Fran would tour the Midwest during vacations.

David Richard Hosler, 80, died two weeks ago on December 12 in Del Rio, Texas, where he retired to after a 15-year career as administrator at Marshall Browning and 40 years in healthcare.

At his request he was cremated with graveside services pending at Prairie Chapel Cemetery in Oakwood, Ohio under the direction of Heitmeyer Funeral Home.

In Texas, Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral home had been in charge of early arrangements.

David was born March 17, 1928 in Oakwood, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Louella Hosler,. and a daughter, Dawn Hosler.

According to information obtained through the funeral home by Marshall Browning's Pam Logan, David had served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

David attended Tri-State University in Angola, Indiana, graduating with a Bachelors of Science Degree in accounting on March 17, 1950.

David was hired by the Marshall Browning Hospital board in 1975, shortly after the construction of a two-story patient wing that now houses outpatient services and the hospital's administrative offices.

His wife Fran survives as do children David Hosler Jr. of Columbia Heights, VA; Dianne Duff of Yanesville, Ohio, Darlene Yarmesch of Lancaster, Ohio. and a stepson, Dana French of Hillard Ohio.
