Chester city council starts off year with short meeting

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[In their first meeting of 2009 the Chester City Council authorized the Mayor to sign the Local Agency Agreement for Federal Participation in construction of the Welcome Center.

Seagar Park will be the location for the new Welcome Center.

Discussion and approval came for the Codification Chapter 27 Offenses,

The council discussed and rejected all bids for shelters at Cohen Complex. The council decided that city workers will do the work.

Under Committee reports, the pay estimate #1 to Red Dot Construction &?Equipment Rentals, Inc. for pump station No. 5 renovation was approved in the amount of $41,920.16

The next regularly scheduled city council meeting will be Tuesday, January 20 at 7:00 p.m. at city hall.
