Wanda L. Griffin of Marion

Wanda Lee Griffin age 97, of Marion, Illinois, passed away at 5:55 p.m. on Friday May 13, 2022, in the Helia Health Care of Energy.

Wanda was born on May 3, 1925 in Williamson County, to the late Dow and Daisy Evetts Radford. She was married to Joseph F. Griffin on January 26, 1947. He preceded her in death on August 25, 2005.

Wanda went to elementary school in Stonefort and graduated from the Crab Orchard High School. She was a member of the Springhill Baptist Church. She worked for Kroger's at two different times and loved to sew, quilt, garden, and read her Bible. Wanda also loved to sit on her front porch and watch traffic go by.

Wanda outlived her immediate family and is survived by a daughter-in-law, Brenda Griffin, of West Frankfort, Illinois, and her children. She is also survived by many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe, and her son Danny.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 17, 2022, at 11 a.m. in the Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills with the Rev. Harl Cockrum officiating. Burial will be in the Springhill Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home after 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
