Du Quoin Soph Football Falls at Harrisburg

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Du Quoin High School's Junior Varsity Football team fell to 1-1 on the young season Monday, losing 32-7 at Harrisburg.

The Indians host Herrin next week and scored early in the third quarter on Trent Bigham's nine-yard pass to Chaz Bland.

Brandon George kicked the extra point.

Harrisburg led 20-0 at halftime.

Jerrill Holmes paced Du Quoin with 87 yards rushing on 16 carries while Bigham threw for 64 yards, 48 to Karson Hoffman.

Defensively, Storm Clarry recorded 10 tackles and Kenny Kabat nine.

Will Alstat and Bland each made eight stops.

Logan Spain blocked two extra point kicks and Kabat knocked down a third.

Bland and Bryce Hamburger recovered fumbles.
