#204 Spilts, EJHS Sweeps, SB-T Second
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ The Pinckneyville #204 Lady Tiger softball team recorded a lopside road victory at Thompsonville on Friday, Sept. 5.
The Tigers defeated Thompsonville 15-1 in five innings.
Caitie Opp pitched a one-hit game backed up by good play from her defense. She recorded five strikeouts in the game. On the offensive side, Heather McDaniel led the way with two homeruns, one a grand slam for a total of six RBI.
Kalie Bathon had a double and two base hits while Kritsten Ginn and Morgan Wild had two hit days.
The Tigers are now 4-7 and begin QCAC tournament play Tuesday at Giant City.
Also last week, #204 lost 12-0 in six innings against QCAC leading Elverado.
Abby Grammer knocked in four runs for Elverado with Skye Lynch and Hanna Rawson adding two RBI each.
Erika Will scored three runs.
EJHS whipped DeSoto 15-0 in the QCAC Tourney Monday as Corinne Wilson pitched a one-hitter.
The Lady Falcons play again Wednesday.
SB-T BASEBALL SECOND
Herrin won the Pinckneyville (Junior High School) Invitational Tournament this past weekend, defeating #204 and St. Bruno's/Tamaroa.
SB-T defeated PJHS 4-0 in the semifinals as Dylan Hardin struck out 12 batters with a one-hitter.
At the plate, Dalton Hubler was 2-for-3 with a home run and double.
He knocked in two runs. Henry Dudek also doubled with two RBI. Kyle Brocaille recorded a hit.
QCAC TOURNEY
Elverado (Junior High School) bested DeSoto 8-1 in the first game of the QCAC Tournament Monday.
Now 7-3, the Junior Falcons play Wednesday vs. Herrin (OLMC) or Steeleville.
Kyle Whittington and Brandon Scott doubled with Christian Kistner logging a complete game mound win.
