Accident on Rt. 152

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[A teenage DeSoto driver has ben cited for unsafe equipment and driving too fast for conditions following a 3:55 p.m. accident on Rt. 152 west of Du Quoin. Reba Ryan Morgan, 18, told state police he had been having trouble with the brakes on his car. He was westbound approaching the intersection of Kathleen Mine Road with a car stopped in front of him. Morgan hit his brakes. The right side locked up throwing the car into a skid. His car left the road, sheared off two power poles and the lines and transformers fell on his car. He was taken to Marshall Browning Hospital. Passengers Josh Smith,17, Cindy Delp, 19 and Rebecca Falter,19 of Elkville and Steve Batteau, 17 of Chester all escaped serious injury. The car received major damage and was towed by Rich's of Carbondale.
