Board of Education, DEA Reach New Contract

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ In historic fashion, the District #300 Board of Education and Du Quoin Education Association negotiation teams have reached a tentative agreement with one year remaining on the present contractual agreement between these two entities.

The tentative collective bargaining agreement was reached after four negotiation sessions were conducted during this summer. The contract as proposed will be presented for consideration by the membership of the Du Quoin Education Association during the latter part of this week and the beginning of next week.

It is anticipated the District #300 Board of Education will vote on the proposed contractual agreement at its regular August 21, 2008 meeting. If agreed upon, the contract would be for a three year duration beginning with the 2009-2010 school year and concluding with the 2011-2012 school year.
