Airport T-Hangar Project Pushed to 2009
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Commissioner Beltz came to the meeting with an update concerning the T-hangar production at the Du Quoin/Pinckneyville airport: decisions on the project from the cities should be tabled until spring 2009. The reason being that the state requested the towns supply more money for the project just in case the state funds come late, if at all. The additional funds from both cities, in the worst case scenario, would have more than tripled in amount to nearly $75,000 from the $22,000 before. Without the ability to contribute that much money, Pinckneyville would not have been able to fund the project it things went too far south. However, engineers at the airport opted to wait until 2009, when the funds carry over and additional funds come in from the state, and re-evaluate the project's situation, which is estimated to cost the cities only about $500 more than the original stated contribution of $22,000.
