Candidate docs available for 2025 city council election

Documents needed to run for one of three seats on the Carbondale City Council next spring are now available at city hall.

Prospective candidates can obtain informational documents and petition forms from the city clerk's office. The same forms are available from the Illinois State Board of Elections website. Completed forms must be filed with the city clerk's office between Oct. 21 and Oct. 28.

The April 1 election will be for the seats currently held by Jeff Doherty, LaCaje Hill and Ginger Rye Sanders.

If 13 or more candidates file petitions for the three seats, a consolidated primary will be held on Feb. 25.
