Myra D. Born-Gant

Myra D. Born-Gant, 67, of Du Quoin, passed away at 10:25 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.

Myra had been a school teacher and taught 8th grade Language Arts for 38 years in Du Quoin. She retired in May of 2009. She was a long time sponsor of the Social Studies Club. She attended the Spirit of Life Christian Church in Du Quoin. She was a member of Police, Fire and Merit Board for the City of Du Quoin, American Legion Auxiliary in Du Quoin, Retired Teachers Association of Perry County, Illinois Education Association and Fraternal Order of Moose Lodge in Murphysboro.
