Run for the Fallen: Du Quoin Cares, Too!

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ The name of Shelby J. Feniello, age 25, killed October 9, 2006 in Iraq was placed on a utility pole in front of the Du Quoin State Bank Wednesday morning. He was a member of the United States Marine Corp whose hometown is Connellsville, Pa. His memorial and the American flag that was hung along with it was No. 2755 among the American casualties in Iraq. Others line every mile of the memorial route of "Run for the Fallen."

His life, and the lives of hundreds of others--including Drew Uhles of Du Quoin and Wyatt Eisenhauer of Pinckneyville--are the focus of a nationwide run from California to the Arlington National Cemetery to remember those who have lost their lives in the Iraq war. Wednesday's 60-mile leg of the journey began in Nashville, Ill. at 6 a.m., passed through Pinckneyville at 10 a.m. and came through Du Quoin at 11:20 a.m.

It was an extraordinary morning of emotion and Du Quoin was proud to be part of it.
