Carl Bernard 'Cowboy' Beasley of Galatia
Carl Bernard "Cowboy" Beasley, age 66, a resident of Galatia, passed away Sunday, Feb. 24, 2019 at his residence, from complication of lung cancer.
He was born Aug. 28, 1952 in Williamson County to the late William Leon Beasley and Doris Evelyn (Fox) Beasley.
On April 12, 1972, he married Loretta Evetts and she survives.
Carl was a coal miner for 17½ years with Peabody Coal's Will Scarlet Mine; a truck driver; and a clinic tech for Center Stone for 25 years.
He was an Army veteran during the Vietnam era and a member of Mt. Pleasant Freewill Baptist Church. Carl was a member of UMWA and Laborers International Union Local 773.
He loved fishing, the St. Louis Cardinals, and bull riding. Carl was quite the storyteller and his family was the most important thing to him.
In addition to his wife Loretta, Carl is survived by his children, Kelly Beasley and wife Cari of Salem, Stephanie Beasley of Galatia, and Jeremy Beasley and wife Laci of Herrin; six grandchildren, Jovani Conforti of Ft. Worth, Texas, Jackeline (Curtis) Black of Salem, Zachary Stevens of Salem, Brian Evilsizer of Salem, and Rowdy Beasley and Baylee Beasley of Herrin; and two brothers, Andy Beasley of Pittsburg and Lynn Beasley of Tennessee.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Betty Curry.
Services for Carl will begin at 1 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2019 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg with the Rev. Jeff Odum officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Poordo, near Attila, in Williamson County.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019 at Reed Funeral Chapel.
