Robert Lyons

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Robert Bruce Lyons, 56, of Du Quoin, passed away at 11:56 a.m., Monday, March 10, 2008, at the St. Anthony's Medical Center in St. Louis, Mo.

Robert had worked as a laborer in plastic manufacturing. He was a member of the Inwood Baptist Church in Winter Haven, Fla. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of Vietnam.

He was born April 10, 1951, at Andalusia, Ala., the son of John F. and Opal (Green) Lyons.

He is survived by his mother, Opal DiBenedetto of Du Quoin; two children, JoAnna Newbern of Dalton, Ga., and Erin Lyons of Winter Haven, Fla.; one sister, Linda Walling of Pikeville, Tenn.; and three grandchildren, Ethan, Emma and Ella.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund of Du Quoin and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin is in charge of arrangements.

Per Mr. Lyons' request, cremation services were held. There will be no public visitation or funeral.
