Verble Swisher

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Verble Maxine Swisher, 91, passed away March 15, 2008, at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin.

She was born May 10, 1916, in Christopher to parents Charles Hill and Hazel (Milburn) Hill. She married Emmett (Dobber) Swisher in Royalton, Sept. 6, 1935.

She is survived by her children, Charles (Dobber) and Judy Swisher of Mulkeytown, Linda and Raymond Flannigan of Nashville Tenn., Bob and Evelyn Swisher of Coello and Janice and Norm Tilley of Du Quoin, Debbie and Jerry Stanley of Mulkeytown; grandchildren, David Flannigan, Mark Flannigan, Tracy Flannigan, Charles Dean, Pam Swisher, Carrie Estes, Jeff Thies, Steven Tilley, John Tilley and Kristey Menckowski; great-grandchildren, Shana Flannigan, Charlie Swisher, Adam Estes, Josh Estes, Preston Thies, Ryan Thies, Taylor Gray, Kody Gray, Hunter Gray, Desiree Tilley, Chloe Tilley, Emily Tilley and Sallee Tilley; brothers and sisters, Pauline Anheuser of Du Quoin, Geraldine Kowzan of Du Quoin and Dean Hill of Steelville; and many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

She was preceeded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Norma Harrell and Billie Castleton; brother, Leslie Hill; grandson LeRoy Swisher; and great-grandson, Brandon Gray.

The funeral will be held Wednesday March 19, at 2 p.m. at the Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher and will be buried in Mulkeytown Cemetery. Visitation will take place Tuesday, March 18, from 5 to 8 p.m.
