Barbara Rumps

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Barbara L. Rumps, age 56, of Du Quoin formerly of Bellville, went home to be with the Lord on

Sunday, September 7th, 2008 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

Barbara was born on august 27th, 1952 in East St. Louis to Oscar Roy and Martha (Hagenne) Orr. She was a graduate of Belleville Township High School East. Barbara also graduated from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and George Washington University St. Louis. Barbara was active in the ministries and outreach of the Broken Hearted Ministries Church and was co-founder of the churches food pantry.

Barbara leaves her husband J.R. Rumps of Du Quoin. and foster children Dina, Preston, Kenny and Penny McCord; Stepson James and two step-daughters Denita and Shannon; Brothers Charles Orr of SanFranciso, Calif., Ronald Orr of Vienna, Va., one sister Sharon Orr-Woods of Bellville.

Barbara was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Henry and Helena Hagene and by both her parents Roy and Martha Orr of Fairview Heights.

Services will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 in the Church for the Broken Hearted in Christopher. with Sister Marvaline Cole officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. till time of service. Interment will be in the Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Du Quoin. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Broken Hearted Ministry food pantry at 103 West Market, Christopher. 62822.
