Kenneth Mascetti

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Kenneth Lee 'Kenny' Mascetti, age 49, of Pinckneyville, formerly of Herrin, passed away on Sunday September 7, 2008 at 6:55 a.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital Emergency Room.

Kenny was born on December 23, 1958 in Herrin. On August 19, 1988, he married Kathy Bird in Paducah, Ky., and she survives. Kenny was a warehouse manager for Peabody Coal at Gateway Mine. Memberships included Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Herrin, the Eagles in Du Quoin and KC Council 2164 in Herrin. Kenny was an avid sportsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and was a St. Louis Cardinal fan. He enjoyed coaching his son Tyler's youth sports teams for many years.

He is survived by his wife: Kathy Mascetti of Pinckneyville, parents: Joe and Kay Marlo of Herrin, one son: Tyler Mascetti of Pinckneyville, one daughter: Chasity Cruz of Du Quoin, two brothers: Joe (June) Marlo, Jr. and Jim (Janice) Marlo all of Marion, two sisters: Karen Austin of Charleston, SC, Barbara Waterbury of Valier, and three grandchildren: Shelby Lynn Presley and Alex and Diego Cruz and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father Philip Mascetti.

Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at 11 a.m. with Father Brian Barker officiating. Interment will be in St. Carlo Cemetery, Herrin.

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.
