Erma V. Wilcox

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Erma V. "Genie" Wilcox, age 83, of Pinckneyville, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2008 at 5:50 a.m. in her home.

Genie was born on May 9, 1925 in Rice, a daughter to Thomas H. and Lillian M. (McIlrath) Todd. On November 23, 1958, she married Glenn Wilcox in Dallas, Texas, and he preceded her in death on January 10, 1978. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, and had served on the Perry County Counseling Board and numerous other boards throughout her lifetime. She had retired as a land agent from Arkland Company after 25 years of service.

Survivors include three sons: Glenn (Carole) Wilcox of Murphysboro, J.T. (Patti) Wilcox of Idabel, Okla., and Billy Joe (Traci) Wilcox of Ridgecrest, Calif., four daughters: Mary Lou Webb of Murphysboro, Carol Millikin of Du Quoin, Peggy (Rusty) Dunn of Pinckneyville, Elizabeth "Beth" (Jim) Bates of Du Quoin, , a sister: Nedra (Kenneth) Heine of Sparta, twenty-one grandchildren, and twenty-five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son: Tommy Williams, two sons-in-law: Frank Millikin and Gary Ferrero, a grandson: Brad Wilcox, a grandson-in-law: Terry Queen, and a granddaughter-in-law: Dee Bates.

Funeral services will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 10 a.m. with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Interment will be in Cutler City Cemetery, Cutler.

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, on Friday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Saturday at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, or American Cancer Society.
