Freda A. Rice

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Freda A. Rice, 96, of Nashville, formerly of Du Quoin and Elkville, passed away at 10:50 a.m., Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at the Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon.

Freda was a homemaker and had worked at International Shoe Factory in St. Louis, Mo. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was born May 14, 1912 at Hallidayboro, the daughter of Sam and Martha (Barnes) Fann.

She married Homer Rice on December 19, 1931 at Vergennes, and he preceded her in death on January 21, 1981.

She is survived by one sister - Faye Bourland of Belle Rive, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers, and seven sisters.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, October 17, at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.

Friends may call from Noon until the time of service on Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Elkville Cemetery at Elkville.

Friends may make memorials to TIP Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
