Patricia A. River

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Patricia A. "Pat" River, age 79 of Pinckneyville, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2008 at 7 a.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, IL.

Pat was born on August 9, 1929 in East St. Louis, a daughter to Edward and Ethel (Crawford) Murphy. On June 17, 1950, she married Henry G. River at Winstanley Baptist Church, East St. Louis, and he survives. Pat was a homemaker and a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Pinckneyville, life member and past president of Belleville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, P.E.O. Chapter KZ, Carbondale, and Pinckneyville Woman's Club.

Pat is survived by her husband: Henry River of Pinckneyville, one son: Keith A. (Jayne) River of Water Valley, Miss., two grandchildren; Heather and Steffi River, good friends and caretaker: Linda and Kenny Bozeman of Pinckneyville, one sister-in-law: Lona Rae Smith of Pinckneyville, numerous friends from the First National Bank of Pinckneyville, and all her special friends at Pinckneyville Skill Care and Pinckneyville Health Care Center.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, one sister: Doris Armstrong and one brother: Frank C. Smith.

Funeral services will be at the First Presbyterian Church, Pinckneyville, on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Kerry Bean officiating. Interment will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Pinckneyville.

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Wednesday at the Church from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.

Memorials may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation, First United Presbyterian Church, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
