</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ John H. Wesseln, age 90, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away at 4:00a.m. on Monday, November 17, 2008 in Friendship Manor, Nashville, IL.
John was born on June 6, 1918 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to Frank and Ida E. (Feik) Wesseln. On January 11, 1944, he married Dorothy Epplin in St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL and she survives. John was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church and the Farm Bureau. He was a farmer and the third generation to live and farm the same land. He enjoyed antique tractors, attending antique tractor pulls and attending the Thresherman shows.
John is survived by his wife: Dorothy of Pinckneyville, IL, two sons: Edward (Karla) Wesseln and Donald Wesseln all of Pinckneyville, IL, one daughter: Elizabeth "Betty" (George) Niemann of Arnold, MO, two sisters: Agnes Miller of Pinckneyville, IL and Ida Wesseln of Visalia, CA, three grandchildren: John E. (Tabatha) Wesseln and Alexandra and Frank Wesseln, and one great granddaughter: Mackenna Wesseln.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters: Edna in infancy, Mildred McDonald, Florence, and Clara Wesseln, Irene Loos and Marie Mann and two brothers: Robert and James Wesseln.
Funeral services will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Brian Barker officiating. Interment will be in St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. The rosary will be recited on Thursday at 9:00 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Bruno School or Heartland Hospice.
