Nancy A. Blades

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Nancy A. Blades, age 71, of Pinckneyville, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2008, in Des Peres Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.

Nancy was born on August 11, 1937 in Du Quoin, a daughter to Harry H. and Alma (Kellerman) Hearn. On January 10, 1959, she married Bobby D. Blades in Pinckneyville, and he preceded her in death on March 23, 1998. Nancy was a member of the First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, worked as secretary and clerk for the Perry County Sheriff's Department for over 20 years, a member of Eastern Star, the Sherriff's Association and was an avid Pinckneyville Panther sports fan.

She is survived by one son: James Dean Blades of Pinckneyville, one daugher: Rhonda (Kevin) Hicks of Pinckneyville, three grandchildren: Haven (Ashley) Hicks, Hayden Hicks and Brenden Blades, one step-grandchild: Bryce (Becky) Hicks, one sister: Betty (Joe) Yates of Pinckneyville, and two nephews: Timothy (Janae) Yates and Bill (Emily) Yates

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one nephew: Bobby Joe Yates.

Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, on Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at 11 a.m. with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Private family interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, at a later date.

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m

Memorials may be made to the 2001 State Champion Scholarship Fund or Pinckneyville High School Athletic Department.
