Vernie Doris Ferrari

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Vernie Doris Ferrari, age 97, of Pinckneyville, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 8:45 p.m. in Friendship Manor Nursing Home, Nashville.

Vernie was born on September 21, 1911 in Rice, a daughter to Ezra and Ann (Rice) Hutchings. On September 7, 1928, she married Ristidy Ferrari and he preceded her in death on September 23, 1980. Vernie was a member of the First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, attended Sunday School Class and was a member of the Farm Bureau. Vernie enjoyed gardening, baking, quilting and canning. She loved spending time with her twin sister: Ernie and loved cooking for company, farming and chickens.

She is survived by two sons: Paul Dean Ferrari and Ralph Ferrari of Pinckneyville, one daughter: Imogene (Martin) Hepp of Pinckneyville, one brother: Loren Hutchings of Nashville, 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and many dear nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers, three sisters, one grandson and one great-grandson.

Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at 10 a.m. with Reverend Rick Hatley and Brother Tim Bauersachs officiating. Interment will be in Concord Baptist Cemetery, Rice.

Friend may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. at the church.

Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville.
