Roger Lee Stewart

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Roger Lee Stewart, 53, of Du Quoin, passed away at 5:30 a.m., Thursday, February 5, 2009 at his residence.

Roger had worked at Pallet Factory in Tamarack, Minn., before he enlisted in the US Navy. He had also worked as a jailer for the Perry County Sheriff's Dept. for four years and worked as a welder at Prestige Trailer Mfg. in Du Quoin.

Roger was a US Navy veteran serving as a submarine tender in San Diego. After his discharge from the Navy he moved to Du Quoin.

He graduated from the Red River High School in Grand Forks, N.D.

Roger was born September 28, 1955 at Rapid City, S.D., the son of Robert A. and Ramona (Oster) Stewart.

He is survived by his parents Robert A. and Ramona Stewart of Tamarack, Minn., Fianc&#233; Donna McPheron of Du Quoin, two sisters- Rhonda Stewart of Brooklyn Park, Minn., and Rita Stewart of Minneapolis, Minn., brother- Ronald Stewart of Tenn.

He was preceded in death by a brother- Duane Stewart.

Per Roger's request cremation was held.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
