Louise Obertini

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Louise Obertini, 90, of Du Quoin, passed away at 6:15 a.m., Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at the Fair Acres Nursing Home in Du Quoin.

Louise was a homemaker. She was a member of the Old Du Quoin Baptist Church.

She was born January 6, 1919 at Du Quoin, the daughter of Christian A. and Lilly May (Burbes) Chapman.

She married August Obertini on July 17, 1943 at Du Quoin and he preceded her in death on November 16, 1998.

She is survived by one son - Richard Obertini and wife Dixie of Du Quoin, three grandsons - Rodney Sanders of DeSoto, Jonathan Sanders and wife Kristy of Du Quoin, and Daniel Sanders of Old Du Quoin, five great grandchildren - Holly Sanders, Shana Sanders, Jessica Sanders, Joshua Sanders, and Clayton Sanders, one brother-in-law - Charles Obertini of Du Quoin, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers - Ottie Chapman and Orville Chapman.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 13, 2009 at the Old Du Quoin Baptist Church in Du Quoin with Rev. Ted Clark officiating.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Friday.

Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the Old Du Quoin Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
